Thai Beer Festival – Put On Your Drinking Caps

Ideally, every year a beer festival is conducted in Bangkok the same way a beer fest is conducted in Germany. However, unlike the Germans the brewers of different beer products in Thailand celebrate this event in November thus calling it the Novemberfest and prolonging it on until January.

The festival is takes place in every city mall, town or street in Bangkok complementing the beer garden season that has often been a success in the history of this extraordinary event. So if you are traveling towards the city of Bangkok in November make sure you take your drinking caps with you and wear them right until you cannot consume anymore of that great beer on offer.

You can soak up the beer by having some great barbeque or a number of other meals on offer and dance the night away to the great music and the spectacular lights that illuminate the area provide the perfect ambience. The festival is regarded, as a nationwide affair and this is where you need to be. The beer brands ranging from Heineken, Lion, Chang are among a few that will be circulated around in jugs, bottles, cans or anyway you want it.

The beer festival could be found at anyone of these places; Central City Bangna, Central Rama 3, Central World Plaza, Tesco Lotus Bangna, The Mall Bangkapi and the Tesco Lotus Rama 4.

An experience to indulge in is the beer games; drinking beer through tubes, taps, straws or whichever way you can to finish your brew before you get to the next. The festival is known to attract hundreds of expatriates, locals and some celebrities as well.

The perfect climax to beer and food will definitely be the ideal accommodation tailor made to suit your every requirement, so look no further than a hotel Sukhumvit road away from the city’s hustle and bustle and waltz into the ever so vibrant Royal President Bangkok and be blown away by its breathtaking views, amenities and facilities just how you would have wanted it.

Beer and Revolution: The German Anarchist Movement in New York City, 1880-1914

Beer and Revolution: The German Anarchist Movement in New York City, 1880-1914

$47.71

Understanding an infamous political movement’s grounding in festivity and defiance "Beer and Revolution" examines the rollicking life and times of German immigrant anarchists in New York City from 1880 to 1914. Offering a new approach to an often misunderstood political movement, Tom Goyens puts a human face on anarchism and reveals a dedication less to bombs than to beer halls and saloons where political meetings, public lectures, discussion circles, fundraising events, and theater groups were held. Goyens brings to life the fascinating relationship between social space and politics by examining how the intersection of political ideals, entertainment, and social activism embodied anarchism not as an abstract idea, but as a chosen lifestyle for thousands of women and men. He shows how anarchist social gatherings were themselves events of defiance and resistance that aimed at establishing anarchism as an alternative lifestyle through the combination of German working-class conviviality and a dedication to the principle that coercive authority was not only unnecessary, but actually damaging to full and free human development as well. Goyens also explores the broader circumstances in both the United States and Germany that served as catalysts for the emergence of anarchism in urban America and how anarchist activism was hampered by police surveillance, ethnic insularity, and a widening gulf between the anarchists’ message and the majority of American workers.

Charleston Beer: A High-Gravity History of Lowcountry Brewing

Charleston Beer: A High-Gravity History of Lowcountry Brewing

$16.13

The artisanal "craft" beer movement has taken the nation by storm over the last few years, and that storm has officially struck Charleston. The city plays home to four breweries, dedicated retail stores and bars, a home brewing club, and an annual beer festival. However, Charleston’s beer history runs much deeper than this. The bustling port was its original claim to fame, which meant many early visitors would be sailors in search of wine, women, song, and beer. This book tells the story of breweries operating as early as 1732, large breweries that opened in the 1800′s, and the state’s perpetually weird legal treatment of alcohol. The story continues into the 1990′s when beer would once again be produced here, and ends with coverage on the key players in craft beer today. It’s much better when read with a local pint in hand.

Beer School: Bottling Success at the Brooklyn Brewery

Beer School: Bottling Success at the Brooklyn Brewery

$20.99

What do you get when you cross a journalist and a banker? A brewery, of course. "A great city should have great beer. New York finally has, thanks to Brooklyn. Steve Hindy and Tom Potter provided it. Beer School explains how they did it: their mistakes as well as their triumphs. Steve writes with a journalist’s skepticism-as though he has forgotten that he is reporting on himself. Tom is even less forgiving-he’s a banker, after all. The inside story reads at times like a cautionary tale, but it is an account of a great and welcome achievement." —Michael Jackson, The Beer Hunter(r) "An accessible and insightful case study with terrific insight for aspiring entrepreneurs. And if that’s not enough, it is all about beer!" —Professor Murray Low, Executive Director, Lang Center for Entrepreneurship, Columbia Business School "Great lessons on what every first-time entrepreneur will experience. Being down the block from the Brooklyn Brewery, I had firsthand witness to their positive impact on our community. I give Steve and Tom’s book an A++!" —Norm Brodsky, Senior Contributing Editor, Inc. magazine "Beer School is a useful and entertaining book. In essence, this is the story of starting a beer business from scratch in New York City. The product is one readers can relate to, and the market is as tough as they get. What a fun challenge! The book can help not only those entrepreneurs who are starting a business but also those trying to grow one once it is established. Steve and Tom write with enthusiasm and insight about building their business. It is clear that they learned a lot along the way. Readers can learn from these lessons too." —Michael Preston, Adjunct Professor, Lang Center for Entrepreneurship, Columbia Business School, and coauthor, The Road to Success: How to Manage Growth "Although we (thankfully!) never had to deal with the Mob, being held up at gunpoint, or having our beer and equipment ripped off, we definitely identified with the challenges faced in those early days of cobbling a brewery together. The revealing story Steve and Tom tell about two partners entering a business out of passion, in an industry they knew little about, being seriously undercapitalized, with an overly naive business plan, and their ultimate success, is an inspiring tale." —Ken Grossman, founder, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
